Welcome to the 13th episode of the vs pod. We begin a trio of shows on the glory that was the soundtrack album, a format that reached its apogee IMHO in the 1990s (so right in the sweet spot of this podcast!). We start this show with classics from an indie auteur film by Hal Hartley and tour our way through pop culture icons, Aussie indie films, some TV soundtracks, the classic Judgment Night which mashes metal, indie and rap (as well as the Higher Learning soundtrack that introduced Tori Amos to the hip-hop world) and a track from arguably is the greatest soundtrack of that decade, the Singles soundtrack from the Cameron Crowe film of the same name. Enjoy
